Dropbox’s Real Estate Workplace Services Team’s mission is to design a more enlightened way of working. They value simple features which function better and make more sense. The space represents a big expansion for Dropbox and was also the single largest lease in San Francisco history in 2017. Ultimately, the focus was simple – create a space where Dropboxers’ can do their best work.Results
The PM team role on the project was to help Dropbox get to simple. Our PM team stepped into the role during a transition of personnel in Dropbox leadership. Plans and processes needed to be systematized, the schedule maintained, and the budget contained. We collaborated with two teams of remote architectural firms to submit over a dozen permit packages requiring typical approvals in addition to oversight by the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII). Our partnership with Fire Life Safety Consultants, Elevator Consultants, Commissioning Agents, Kitchen Consultants, Landlord and Permit Expeditors were key to Dropbox occupying their new office on schedule & budget. Dropbox now has workspace for over 3,000 employees as well as multiple unique amenity spaces. The Cresa team embodied this focus, while demonstrating integrity and earning trust from our Client.Nan Reed and the team she has established at Cresa have been phenomenal partners; setting strategy, adeptly pivoting, as well as continually refining our delivery best practices and budget accuracy. They have been an embedded partner, with Nan serving as our fearless captain who executes clear directives, engenders trust and enables creative problem solving.
