New Jersey Brain and Spine Signs for 16K Square Feet
New Jersey Brain and Spine will relocate from Hackensack to Paramus under a lease arranged by Cresa’s New Jersey-based Medical Practice Group.
The No. 1-ranked neurosurgery practice in New Jersey – and fifth nationwide – signed on for 16,222 square feet at 650 From Road, Cresa exclusively revealed to NJBIZ. Managing Principals Jonathan Marks and Dennis Gralla represented the tenant.
The move increases New Jersey Brain and Spine‘s overall footprint from its current 13,559 square feet, according to Cresa. The health care provider expects to take occupancy in January.
Cushman & Wakefield Vice Chair Ben Brenner, Executive Managing Director David DeMatteis and Executive Director Mark Zaziski represented ownership, Woodbridge-based Onyx Equities LLC, in the transaction.
Bill Kimmerle of Kimmerle Newman designed New Jersey Brain and Spine’s new space. Cresa Project Manager Justin Eagle and New Jersey Brain and Spine’s Jeanmarie Falco will oversee the work. Three 17 Construction serves as general contractor.
Class A attractions
Starting in 2020, 650 From Road underwent a $10 million capital campaign. Kimmerle Newman also led that work at the 348,510-square-foot building — the municipality’s largest Class A office property.
Updates include:
- New, modern workspaces, lobbies and common areas;
- A full-service food hall; state-of-the-art conference center; and
- Indoor and outdoor employee lounge areas.
“This complex disposition and relocation is a pivotal step for New Jersey Brain and Spine’s continued growth and success,” said Marks. “This upgraded space at 650 From Road offers the perfect combination of a premier medical environment and accessibility to key medical institutions in Bergen County. The practice is well positioned to provide patients with state-of-the-art care for years to come.”
The property has attracted other medical users, too. In May, Hackensack Meridian health opened a $30 million, 150,000-square-foot ambulatory care facility at 650 From Road.
“Operationally and geographically, this is a terrific move for us,” said New Jersey Brain and Spine’s Dr. Hooman Azmi.
