Washington, D.C. – November 10, 2020 – Cresa, the world’s largest occupier-centric commercial real estate firm, has named Tom Birnbach, a Managing Principal in their Washington DC office, as President. In this role, Birnbach will oversee all of Cresa’s more than 80 offices, with a focus on continuing the firm’s growth initiatives and enhancing organizational efficiencies. Birnbach also acts as the Vice Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

Birnbach is one of Cresa’s founding members and has been with the company for over 30 years. He brings a long history of servicing global accounts and has contributed to a rapidly growing roster of successful partnerships with occupiers around the globe.

Outside of Cresa, Birnbach is a member of both the Greater Washington Board of Trade and The Economic Club of Washington DC. He also serves as an elected member of the University of Maryland’s Board of Trustees.

“I am excited to have Tom move into the President role and become an integral member of our leadership team,” said Cresa CEO Jim Underhill. “His skills and experience will help take Cresa’s already robust momentum to the next level.”

"Cresa’s offices are the core of our success and I am thrilled to be in a position to help them thrive,” said Birnbach. “With Cresa’s laser focus on representing the needs of occupiers, we have a tremendous competitive advantage over the large firms in our industry that are trying to be all things to all people. I look forward to helping Jim and the rest of the leadership team continue the strategic growth efforts that are already delivering impressive results.”
