Suburban Maryland Market Report Q1 2019

The Suburban Maryland office market recorded 148,691 SF of positive absorption in Q1 following a 2018 that recorded 311,968 SF of occupancy growth. Fundamentals remain steady, spear-headed by the Life Sciences sector along I-270 and brisk leasing activity for new construction in Downtown Bethesda. The largest lease of the quarter was the 136K SF Supernaus Pharmaceuticals deal at 9715 & 9717 Key West Highway in North Rockville which will more than triple the drug maker's footprint in the area. Further north along I-270, Medimmune renewed for 50K SF at 950 Wind River Lane in Gaithersburg.
