Mindy Saffer Named as a 2019 Woman of Influence

Mindy Saffer, LEEP AP, Managing Principal of Cresa’s Washington D.C. office, is among nine women who have been named as a 2019 Woman of Influence by GlobeSt.com and the Real Estate Forum. She ranks among an elite group who have stood out in the real estate industry for their continued success in representing clients, support and dedication to the advancement of other women in the field and personal growth throughout their careers. Since joining Cresa seven years ago, Mindy has continued to be a champion for well-known nonprofit organizations, like Habitat for Humanity International, Feeding America and Save the Children, and act as a mentor to younger advisors just beginning in the industry.

Mindy began her career working for an architecture firm where she specialized in designing office space for nonprofit occupiers. “When I started working with nonprofits, I quickly realized that I had found my people! My clients are kind, appreciative and generally wonderful. I also love knowing that every dollar negotiated and saved is a dollar spent on bettering our world.” From there, she joined a local real estate firm as an advisor focused on representing the nonprofit organizations she had once helped design spaces for. She joined Cresa in 2012 as a Managing Principal and the leader of the Nonprofit practice.

Her leadership experience spans to other professional development organizations like ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership where she serves as a finance and business operations council member. In March, Women’s Appreciation Month, she led a discussion among women executives in the nonprofit sector about how they found success in their respective roles. “It’s not unfamiliar for a woman to find herself as the only one of her kind in the room. Discussions like these are important for everyone to understand how a woman can stand apart from the pack in her respective field and how characteristics like confidence, decisiveness and risk taking will always be necessary in her career advancement,” Mindy says.

In addition to ASAE, in 2017 she was the board chair of the Finance and Administration Roundtable and is currently a member of the Commercial Real Estate Brokers Association of Washington, D.C. where she annually exceeds the requirements for the Realtors Multi-Million Dollar Leasing Club for her efforts in transacting. She holds a lifetime accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council as a leader in energy and environmental design and is an active member of her alma maters University of Maryland’s and John Hopkins University’s alumni associations. Since joining Cresa, Mindy has been a Top Producer, named to the President’s Club and recognized with a Chairman Award.

She will be presented with her 2019 Woman of Influence award at the inaugural GlobeSt.ELITE Women of Influence Conference this July in Broomfield, CO.
