Metron renews, expands headquarters lease at Reston Town Center

A scientific consulting company that works in national security is renewing and expanding its headquarters space in Reston, Virginia.

Metron renewed 51,558 square feet across the sixth and seventh floors at 1818 Library St., a 10-story, 248,870-square-foot building in the Reston Town Center. The property has housed Metron since the building's completion in 2008, according to CoStar information.

Additionally, the company agreed to take 25,779 square feet across the third floor that was previously home to Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, or MERS, according to CoStar. With the expansion, Metron now leases 77,337 square feet across three floors in the building.

With the deal, the property is now 100% leased. Additional tenants in the building include Carr Workplaces, FHL Banks Office of Finance and Facebook, which leased 75,000 square feet across the top three floors in 2019 for a new regional office.

The property also includes street-level retail space leased to J. Crew, Lululemon, Pitango Gelato and &pizza.

Joseph L. Ritchey and Alexander Hancock with Transwestern Real Estate Services, in collaboration with in-house reps Sam Orr and Erin Cotter, brokered the Metron lease for the owner, Boston Properties. Thomas Birnbach and Richard Rhodes of Cresa negotiated the deal for Metron.
