As sustainability becomes firmly embedded in the best practices of the real estate industry, we have integrated its opportunities and complexities into every area of our business. Green issues are now part of most conversations, starting with our discussion of your overall business strategy. Whether we’re talking about design and operations, about work environment, or about land use, energy, and other resources, our goal is to see your company in space that works equally well for both your business and the environment.

To that end, our advisors can guide your company through the maze of initiatives, incentives, and regulations surrounding green real estate practices. To help you evaluate your options, we attach a sustainability addendum to most of our landlord RFPs, including Walk scores, Transit scores, and a report card on the impact every site will have on your employees, their drive times, their fuel consumption, and other environmental issues. We also perform a “Triple Bottom Line” data analysis that examines the effect on the “three PPPs” — People, Plant, and Profit.

Part of the challenge is to distinguish a truly productive green practice from a passing trend. While we are keenly aware of the various certification processes, we also look beyond them, knowing non-certified buildings can often be as green as certified ones. Accordingly, we work with you to find realistic solutions that support a sustainable real estate strategy, one that translates green into long-term value.
