DETROIT (September 19, 2023) – Cresa today announced it has acquired Axiom Advisory Group (Axiom), a Detroit-based, tenant focused commercial real estate firm specializing in global corporate real estate portfolio management. Axiom, which also has team members based in Chicago and Dallas, is led by Ryan Bertin and Curt Stanton who will serve as Managing Principals and co-leaders of Cresa’s Detroit operations. The company’s entire eight person staff joins Cresa and will operate under the Cresa brand effective immediately.
“Axiom is well known for its superior client advocacy and customized service in managing corporate real estate portfolios for major corporations,” said Cresa CEO Tod Lickerman. “Their vision, to build real estate strategy around the client and their business objectives with transparency, and true advocacy, is a great fit with our business principles. We are thrilled to welcome the Axiom team to Cresa.”
Since it was founded in 2017, Axiom has completed more than 450 assignments, representing 16 million square feet, across 28 countries for various publicly traded and privately held multi-national corporations. The firm also boasts a robust project management platform and has overseen more than $565 million in managed construction projects over the last six years.
Axiom cites Cresa’s platform and like-minded approach to business as key drivers in the decision to join the firm.
“We were attracted by Cresa’s unique occupier-focused platform and look forward to leveraging a network of high-quality professionals to better serve our client base and extend best-in-class service delivery to our clients in metro Detroit and worldwide,” said Bertin.
The acquisition formally ends Cresa’s longtime partnership with Plante Moran in Detroit.
“While we move to own our Detroit operations, we cannot forget the incredible years of partnership and service Plante Moran gave Cresa,” added Lickerman. “The Plante Moran team was a trusted partner for over two decades and we will always be grateful for the many contributions they made to our firm’s success as a Cresa affiliate.”
Cresa’s acquisition of Axiom is the latest in a series of expansion moves the leading occupier-focused commercial real estate company has made across the U.S. in the last 18 months. In 2022 Cresa expanded its Texas footprint with the acquisition of esrp in Dallas and Elevate Growth Partners in Austin. In June the firm added a team of nine in New York City with the acquisition of Vicus Partners.
