Cresa Sustainability and ESG Interim Statement

As the world’s leading occupier-focused commercial real estate firm, we understand our responsibility to the global community and to our planet. To live our values and embody the positive change we want to see in the world, we have taken affirmative steps to act as a good corporate citizen.

Our occupier-focused business model is inherently conflict free – we never serve landlords or developers. By representing only one party in a negotiation, we bring a transparency to our clients that our competitors cannot. This commitment to occupiers ensures that, above all else, our business dealings are ethical.

We are currently leveraging the expertise of an Outside Board Member, Angela Roseboro, who specializes in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) efforts. In this role, Angela develops and implements initiatives to drive inclusion and cultural growth at Cresa, keeping it top of mind for our Executive team. She is supported by a 45-member Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) Council. The Council has implemented a variety of programs and workshops to promote Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) efforts at Cresa:

  • Our Unconscious Bias Skill Building workshops are designed to help Cresa employees explore their implicit biases and develop skills to adjust automatic, discriminatory patterns of thinking.

  • Cresa’s Development & Enrichment Associate Leadership (DEAL) Program provides baseline compensation to new advisors, attracting a more diverse group of candidates to the field of brokerage where compensation is predominantly commission-based.

  • Our voluntary, Employee-Led Resource Groups (ERGs) create an opportunity for individuals who share a common identity to meet and support one another. Additionally, ERGs help identify future diverse leaders and create opportunities to educate the rest of the organization on diversity-related issues. Our ERGs include Women of Cresa, PRISM, and Cresa Cultures.

  • To keep our 1,050 Cresa employees informed, we circulate a Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging newsletter which highlights the past month's DE&I initiatives. The publication includes ERG updates, upcoming DE&I activities and Employee Spotlights.

Cresa Cares, our 501c3 organization, raises funds for non-profits throughout the year. We also hold an annual Impact Week to encourage Cresa offices to donate time to a local charity of their choice.

To address our environmental impact, we have performed a thorough analysis of industry best practices and peer benchmarking to inform our long-term strategy for acting sustainably. A team of key Cresa stakeholders meet regularly with our sustainability consultant to understand, measure, manage and mitigate our Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and bring our real estate portfolio in line with guidance from the GHG Protocol. Through this work, we intend to commit to a science-aligned Net Zero Greenhouse Gas emissions target and inspire our clients and suppliers to do the same. We want our positive impact to transcend our real estate portfolio and also serve as a model for occupiers and the real estate industry as a whole.

Cresa is committed to intentional, transformational change and full transparency at every stage of this journey. We continue to move towards a more socially and environmentally conscious, resilient version of Cresa, leaving us better positioned to serve our clients, communities and the planet.
