Former WeWork Senior Director Cara Trani has been hired as the Bay Area market leader for Washington, D.C. tenant-focused brokerage Cresa, responsible for leading the company's growth plans across San Francisco and the Silicon Valley.
Trani previously worked on WeWork's Headquarters by WeWork team, a concept launched by the coworking company to create personalized, private workplaces for medium-sized businesses with between 11 and 250 employees. Prior to her roughly one-year stint at WeWork, Trani worked for about a decade as a Bay Area-based broker for JLL.
"(Trani) brings tremendous talent and a wealth of client-centric experience to the firm – we are confident she will be a strong driver of future growth plans while also serving the expanding needs of our clients," said Cresa CEO Jim Underhill in a statement. "Recruiting and retaining talent will be a top priority for her, with the goal of expanding our market footprint significantly in the next few years.”
Trani is just one of a number of WeWork alums who have landed new jobs after the company's well-publicized struggles, which included an ouster of its founding CEO and thousands of layoffs.
