In this role, you will join a high-powered team of professionals to generate new business opportunities as well as support ongoing commercial real estate transactions. Our advisors work with our clients developing strategies to diagnose and solve business problems. Without substantial growth over the past few years, advisors are expected to assume significant levels of responsibility requiring a high degree of maturity, self-confident and analytical ability. The work is exciting and particularly challenging.
Responsibilities
- Business development outreach through prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
- Participate in marketing, negotiations and closing of office/industrial leases and purchases or sales on behalf of the occupier.
- Preparing market surveys and reports on market conditions.
- Conducting research on prospective client profiles.
- Communicating with existing clients to manage the due diligence process.
- Prepare proposal matrices.
- Accompany prospective clients on tour in various submarkets.
- Analyze market data to better understand market trends, market comparisons and historical data for the benefit of our clients and prospects.
- Engage in the local business community for the purpose of generating new business.
Requirements & Responsibilities
- Candidates do not need a real estate license before interviewing, but a real estate salesperson license will be required upon employment.
- Ability to work hard and effectively in a fast-paced, autonomous environment, and thrive on competition.
- Are analytical, strategic, competitive and action-oriented
- Possess perseverance, self-motivated, and operates with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Has strong communication and presentation skills.

- Quick grasp and understanding of company niche and market advantages offered by Cresa's local office to convey these advantages to prospects
- Heavy prospecting for new client relationships via phone and door-to-door contact and communication
- Learn and sharpen presentation skills to win business
- Learn to quickly discern property attributes – their value and how they provide positive or negative consequences for clients
- Learn who the players are in the local market, and develop relationships
- Learn and stay current with market trends, tenant/buyer movement and deal points
- Strongly consider continued education and involvement in commercial real estate organizations and designations
Qualifications & Education
- Excellent communication skills
- Very strong work ethic and desire to work in a sales environment
- Entrepreneurial approach to business—desire to evolve into straight commission compensation
- Ability to work well with others
- Strong math skills and problem-solving capability
- Desire to make real estate a career choice
- Must have Commercial Real Estate License in Illinois
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of Office-specific commercial real estate experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license
