WASHINGTON, D.C., JUNE 3, 2020 – Cresa, the world's leading occupier-centric commercial real estate firm, today announced the launch of a new service line, Remote Advisory Services, to help companies optimize their expanding remote work culture and understand its positive implications for operations, human resources and finance.
With research indicating 74% of CFOs intend to shift some of their previously on-site employees remote and 40 percent of employees preferring to stay remote at least 3 days per week, companies around the globe are determining what their return to the office might look like.
“Many commercial real estate firms are recommending clients increase the company’s square footage to accommodate enhanced long-term social distancing measures,” said Jim Underhill, CEO of Cresa. “But because we are solely occupier-focused, we understand our clients objectives and are able to provide them with unbiased consulting on the future of the workplace, whether that means an adjustment to their real estate footprint, or a portion of their workforce working remotely long-term, which could result in reduced real estate costs and greater productivity.”
Through Remote Advisory Services, Cresa will help clients identify and implement remote work strategies appropriate for their business and employee population, with the goal of achieving improvements in operational productivity, talent attraction/retention and financial results.
As part of the Remote Advisory Services offering, Cresa recently announced a partnership with GoSpaces to offer exclusive access to a suite of mobile solutions designed to enable flexible workplace arrangements. The app is intended to complement return to office planning, allowing employers to limit the number of people in the workplace by providing employees the option to choose a workspace best suited for individual needs, and assisting with employee engagement, whether in the office or working remotely, through gamification.
“Over the past few months, businesses have realized that flexible workplace arrangements can enable future success, improve employee work-life balance, and reduce their environmental footprint and related costs,” said Mindy Saffer, managing principal at Cresa. “The focus of Remote Advisory Services is to help our clients determine if a more flexible work model with less physical space will be effective for their workforce, especially in the cash constrained environment most find themselves in.”
“Companies have a unique opportunity to take advantage of a cultural openness to evaluating remote work, which allows them to rethink how their employees collaborate and reimagine the workplace,” said Jason Jones, co-leader of Cresa Remote Advisory Services. “This goes beyond the short-term response to the pandemic and affords companies the chance to evaluate both the benefits and the challenges of longer term remote work plans.”
Cresa’s Remote Advisory Services is led by Mindy Saffer, Managing Principal; Jason Jones, Principal; and Catherine Cotman, Portfolio Strategy Director.
