As a growing financial institution, Westerra Credit Union wished to consolidate their business operations under their “One Westerra” initiative. After several years of M&A activity, Westerra had found itself with corporate operations dispersed among several buildings within their real estate portfolio and sought to consolidate operations into a single headquarters. They also saw this as an opportunity to redesign their workspace to accommodate the changing needs of their business. They wanted to use their space as a tool to improve business operations and to attract and retain employees.
Results
The Cresa team analyzed Westerra’s building and space utilization determining that Westerra could meet their goals of consolidation in thier existing Cherry Creek building. Cresa/BGL provided the interior design and change management analysis to Westerra, demonstrating they could transition from 30-40 employees per floor to over 80 employees. Through a combination of a modern, open floor plan with daylighting systems and sit-to-stand desks, Westerra was able to visualize in advance their future state against the cost of the project in support of their objectives. The project includes renovations for the entire five story building, including the credit union branch, employee workspaces, break areas and conferencing. Through Cresa’s Integrated Services Platform, Westerra was able to have the benefit of the real estate strategy, change management, design and project management all come from a single source ensuring a seamless delivery of services from strategy through occupancy.
